What is inspected during the home inspection?
Visit our online Inspection Tour to see what is inspected.
Should I have my house tested for Radon?
The EPA and the Surgeon General both agree that every home should be tested for radon.
How long will the inspection take?
Allow between 2 and 3 hours for the typical home inspection.
Will the inspector walk on the roof?
The inspector will walk on the roof if safe and accessible. Sometimes because of poor weather conditions, extremely steep pitched roofs, or very high roofs the inspector will not be able to walk the roof. He will try to get to the edge if possible and will also use binoculars where accessibility is a problem.
Is a written report included with the inspection?
You report will be generated on-site and given to you at the end of the inspection in the form of the HomeBook reporting system.
What is the cost of the home inspection?
Our fees are based on the size and age of the home and the number of units if multi-family. If the home is located outside Monroe County, a travel fee may apply. Please call (585) 872-2430 for a quote.
How much lead time do I need to schedule an appointment?
Being a multi-inspector firm, we can typically schedule an appointment within 2 or 3 days of notification (often sooner). It is also dependent on the time of year. Our busy season is from March through September and additional lead time is sometimes required.
When is the payment due?
The report is delivered on-site at the completion of the inspection. Therefore, payment in the form of cash or personal check is required at that time.
If I’m selling my home, how do I prepare for the buyer’s home inspection?
We’ve provided a guide for you on the Inspection Process page.
