Preparing for the Radon Test

All HomePro radon tests are performed in accordance with the EPA guidelines. These guidelines require the homeowner to maintain "Closed-House Conditions" for 12 hours prior to the start of the test and during the 48-hour minimum test period. "Closed-House Conditions" means keeping ALL windows closed, keeping doors closed except for normal entry and exit, and not operating fans or other machines which bring in air from outside. Please note that fans that are part of a radon reduction system or small exhaust fans (e.g. kitchen, baths, etc.) operating for only short periods of time may run during the test.

If you home is not air conditioned, this becomes an issue in the hot summer months. If you agree to the test, you may have to find alternative living quarters for the time the test is in progress or you may be very uncomfortable for a few days.

Please review the following Environmental Conditions Agreement (agreement to maintain "Closed-House Conditions"). If you agree to the test conditions, please print out the form, sign and date it, and have it ready for the radon measurement provider when he arrives at the house to begin the test.
